A staunch supporter of Toto 4D game became the first winner to win the highest pay-out from Toto 4D game. He won RM1,080000 in last Sunday's Toto draw.

The punter, a building contractor aged 43, betted RM200 big and RM200 small on a lucky number 2288 for Sunday's draw (9/7/95) at a Toto outlet in Petaling Jaya. When Sports Toto held its draw at Pudu Plaza Kuala Lumpur for draw No 905/95 last Sunday evening (9/7/95) at 7.00pni, 2288 was drawn as the first prize winning number for Toto 4D game. The contractor becomes an instant millionaire.

He collected his winnings f row Sports Toto Head of f ice today. This was the second time within a week lie collected his winnings at Sports Toto head office. Last Week (2/7/95) when 2828 was drawn as one of the winning numbers for special prize for draw No 902/95, the contractor betted RM200 on 2828 on Toto 4D big and won RM40,000.00.

When collecting his RM1.08 million winning cheque the jubilant winner told Sports Toto staff that lie only plays Toto 4D game and always like to place his bets at a particular Toto outlet in Petaling Jaya. Because the outlet always brings him good luck. For the past one year, he had won no less than RM3 million in prize money. He added that he won big prize because lie betted heavily.

To prove what he said was true, he took out a stack of Toto 4D lottery tickets he betted for Sunday's draw. At a rough count, the amount betted by him was more than RM10,000. What was even more startling was that, he produced a 4D lottery ticket which he betted RM2,400 on a double digit number. On seeing this, Toto staff who were present were left speechless.

Asked why he have special liking for the number 2288, lie said, two months ago, a stray dog went to his house and refused to leave. Even though he is a non-Chinese, lie has many Chinese friends. Through his Chinese friends, he learned that in Chinese folklore, dog symbolises fortune and brings prosperity to the owner of the house when the dog enters. So he kept the dog. Incidentally, it was 28th when the stray dog came to his house. So he betted 2828 by permutation. It seems that the Chinese belief is true, the dog really bought him good luck. within 2 months, he struck twice and won more than RM1 million.

Meanwhile, Toto 6/42 Jackpot first prize was won by a lucky punter from Malacca in last Saturday's Toto draw (8/7/95 Draw 904/95).
